Der schwierige Teil lag bisher bei der Installation. Die offizielle Anleitung f\u00fcr einen normalen x86-64-PC verlangt einen Live-Ubuntu-Stick mit mindestens 8 GB oder ein Programm wie Etcher, und der PC muss dabei online sein. Der Home Assistant Installer nimmt Dir diesen Umweg jetzt ab, auch wenn die Funktion noch sehr neu ist. Er schrieb bereits SD-Karten f\u00fcr den Raspberry Pi und unterst\u00fctzt auch Home Assistant Green und Yellow, Proxmox und virtuelle Maschinen auf dem Mac. In Version 0.0.0-alpha.4, ver\u00f6ffentlicht am 23. Oktober 2026, kommt eine Route f\u00fcr normale x86-64-PCs dazu. W\u00e4hle im Mini-PC-Ablauf, dass Du von USB starten willst, und geh dann diese Schritte durch:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>W\u00e4hle, ob Du einen USB-Stick oder eine ISO-Datei erstellen m\u00f6chtest. Die ISO ist f\u00fcr eine virtuelle Maschine oder ein Programm wie Rufus gedacht.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>W\u00e4hle den Stick aus und best\u00e4tige. Der Installer l\u00e4dt eine kompakte Linux-Umgebung und die neueste stabile Version von Home Assistant OS herunter und schreibt beides auf den Stick.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Starte den Mini-PC vom Stick und w\u00e4hle das interne Laufwerk, auf dem Home Assistant OS landen soll.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tippe zur Best\u00e4tigung erase ein. Das Laufwerk wird gel\u00f6scht und komplett neu beschrieben.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Zieh den Stick ab und starte den PC neu. Home Assistant OS startet jetzt vom internen Laufwerk.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Auf dem Mini-PC selbst l\u00e4uft alles \u00fcber eine bildschirmf\u00fcllende Ansicht. Das Laufwerk w\u00e4hlst Du mit den Pfeiltasten und Enter, ein Fortschrittsbalken zeigt Prozentwert und gesch\u00e4tzte Restzeit. In dieser Phase braucht der PC kein Internet, denn alle Dateien liegen schon auf dem Stick. Nur beim Erstellen des Sticks ist eine Verbindung n\u00f6tig, weil der Installer zuerst pr\u00fcft, welche Version die neueste ist. Eine Offline-Option steht als k\u00fcnftige Aufgabe auf der Liste. Bei einem Test auf einem \u00e4lteren Dell OptiPlex mit SATA-SSD war die Installation nach etwa zwei Minuten fertig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Diese Voraussetzungen muss Dein Mini-PC erf\u00fcllen<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Route ist f\u00fcr einen PC gedacht, den Du komplett Home Assistant widmest. Pr\u00fcfe vorher im BIOS und am Ger\u00e4t:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>UEFI:<\/strong> Nur UEFI funktioniert, ein alter BIOS-Modus nicht. Schalte Secure Boot aus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>AHCI:<\/strong> Steht der SATA-Controller auf RAID oder Intel RST, stell ihn auf AHCI um.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Laufwerk:<\/strong> Ein internes SATA-, NVMe- oder eMMC-Laufwerk mit mindestens 32 GB. USB-Laufwerke und SD-Karten werden nicht als Ziel angezeigt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Stick:<\/strong> Mindestens 2 GB, und alles, was darauf liegt, geht verloren.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Windows:<\/strong> Zum Schreiben des Sticks sind Administratorrechte n\u00f6tig. Die Alpha ist au\u00dferdem noch nicht signiert, deshalb zeigt SmartScreen eine Warnung, die Du mit Weitere Informationen und Trotzdem ausf\u00fchren wegklickst.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Warum eine Alpha noch nicht auf Deine Hauptzentrale geh\u00f6rt<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Das Projekt nennt den Installer selbst einen Proof of Concept, und die Versionsnummern stehen noch auf 0.0.0. Zwischen der ersten Alpha am 21. Oktober und Alpha 4 liegen zwei Tage, es \u00e4ndert sich also viel pro Tag. Getestet wurde auf dem Dell-Mini-PC und in Proxmox-VMs. NVMe-Laufwerke, eMMC, weitere PCs und das Schreiben eines Sticks unter macOS stehen noch als ungetestet auf der Liste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dabei geht es ausschlie\u00dflich um eine saubere Neuinstallation. L\u00e4uft Dein Smart Home schon auf einem anderen Ger\u00e4t, ziehst Du nicht um, indem Du den Installer startest: Mach zuerst eine vollst\u00e4ndige Sicherung und spiel sie nach der Installation wieder ein. Probiere den Installer deshalb zuerst auf einem Testrechner aus, oder in einer virtuellen Maschine mit der ISO-Datei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Richtung passt zu dem, was die Open Home Foundation schon l\u00e4nger vorbereitet. Auf der Roadmap stand die x86-Route als Folgeschritt zu den Abl\u00e4ufen f\u00fcr Raspberry Pi, Proxmox und den Mac, mit dem Ziel, dass Einsteiger nicht aufgeben, bevor sie die erste Anmeldeseite sehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mini-PC oder K\u00e4stchen: Welche Hardware passt?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ein Mini-PC lohnt sich, sobald Du viele Add-ons, Kamerabilder oder eine gro\u00dfe Datenbank betreibst und eine SSD statt einer SD-Karte haben willst. Wer vor allem Lampen, Thermostate und eine Handvoll Sensoren koppelt, kommt auch mit einer kompakteren L\u00f6sung aus. Wie sich Home Assistant Green und der Raspberry Pi 5 zueinander verhalten, steht in <a href=\"\/blog\/was-ist-home-assistant\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Was ist Home Assistant?<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Das schlie\u00dft Du an, sobald Home Assistant l\u00e4uft<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nach der Installation \u00f6ffnest Du homeassistant.local im Browser und legst ein Eigent\u00fcmerkonto an. Ger\u00e4te, die Home Assistant in Deinem Netzwerk findet, erscheinen als entdeckte Integrationen, die Du mit einem Klick hinzuf\u00fcgst. Die Steckdosen oben sind ein guter erster Test: Du siehst sofort den Verbrauch eines Ger\u00e4ts und kannst eine erste Automatisierung daran h\u00e4ngen. Die Tapo P110M und die tink Basics Steckdose funken \u00fcber WLAN, die <a href=\"\/b\/eve\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Eve<\/strong><\/a> Energy nutzt Thread und braucht deshalb einen Thread Border Router in Deinem Netzwerk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Als N\u00e4chstes folgen <a href=\"\/c\/sicherheit\/smarte-alarmanlagen\/bewegungsmelder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Bewegungsmelder<\/strong><\/a> und T\u00fcr- und Fenstersensoren, denn sie liefern die Ausl\u00f6ser f\u00fcr Routinen wie Licht an beim Heimkommen.
